How it works
No black box. No surge surprise. Here’s the trip your dollar takes from rate card to receipt.
Inside Luna Dispatch, the owner edits a private console with one row per vehicle — base, per-mile, hourly minimum and the flat rates for MIA, FLL and PBI airports. Surge multipliers are scheduled by date (Art Basel, F1, NYE), and corporate volume tiers unlock discounts at agreed monthly thresholds.
When you fill the booking form, the system picks the right line of the rate card (airport flat if your pickup is MIA, FLL or PBI — otherwise base + per-mile or hourly minimum), then multiplies by the active surge for your date, then subtracts your corporate discount if you’re on a volume tier.

The booking modal shows the total — gratuity, fuel, flight tracking and the first 15 minutes of wait time already included. Dispatch confirms the chauffeur and the rate by phone within 15 minutes. Anything beyond the quoted route (extra stops, wait beyond 15 minutes, tolls, parking) is billed at cost on the final receipt.

Both totals quoted before you confirm. Nothing is charged until the ride is delivered.
How you’re charged
Card-on-file pre-authorization protects the reservation. Nothing settles until the chauffeur completes the ride.
When you reserve, your card is authorized for the estimated total via Stripe — a hold, not a charge. Luna never touches the card number; details go straight from your browser to the Stripe network.
A real person at Luna Dispatch reviews the ride, assigns a chauffeur and vehicle, and confirms the final quote by phone or email. If anything in the rate changes — extra stops, a vehicle upgrade — you approve before the hold is touched.
When your chauffeur drops you off, Luna Dispatch captures the exact final amount from the pre-authorization — including any at-cost tolls, parking or extra wait time. The hold releases automatically if anything goes uncaptured. You receive an itemized receipt by email.
Stripe PCI-compliant. Luna never stores or sees your card details. The pre-authorization hold is released within 7 days if a reservation is canceled before pickup.
Understanding the rate card
Six dials live inside Luna Dispatch. Here’s what each one does to the number you see at booking.
Base
The hourly figure for the vehicle — what the chauffeur’s time costs. It anchors every hourly reservation and is the multiplier behind the minimum and any per-mile add.
e.g. Mercedes S-Class · $95/hr
Per mile
Added on top of the base for long point-to-point routes. Quoted only when the route isn’t covered by an airport flat or hourly booking — otherwise the base + flat already include it.
e.g. $3.50/mi for an Escalade transfer
Hourly minimum
The smallest reservation Luna can confirm for that vehicle. Protects the chauffeur’s time when a quick errand would otherwise cost less than the dispatch overhead of arranging it.

Airport flats
Per-vehicle locked rates for the three South Florida airports — MIA, FLL, PBI. Replaces base + mileage so airport transfers stay predictable, with meet-and-greet and flight tracking already included.

Surge windows
A date-range multiplier (typically 1.25× to 1.75×) applied during pre-announced peak weeks — Art Basel, F1, Ultra, NYE, Super Bowl. Always visible before you confirm, never reactive.

Corporate volume
Corporate accounts unlock discount tiers (typically 5%, 8%, 12%) at agreed monthly ride thresholds. Applied automatically once your account passes the threshold — shown on every confirmation.

Airport Transfers
Quoted one-way. Meet-and-greet at arrivals, luggage handled, flight tracked from takeoff. Sedan column reflects the Mercedes S-Class; SUV the Cadillac Escalade; Sprinter the Jet Sprinter 7-Seat. Maybach, Sprinter 11/14, Luxury Bus and Charter Coach are quoted via dispatch.
